About Us

Global Brigades is the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization.

Since 2004, Global Brigades has mobilized tens of thousands of university students and professionals through skill-based programs that work in partnership with community members to improve quality of life in under-resourced regions while respecting local culture.

Our Vision

To improve quality of life by igniting the largest student-led social responsibility movement on the planet in our local Tucson community.

Our Mission

To empower volunteers and under-resourced communities to resolve global health and economic disparities and inspire all involved to collaboratively work towards an equitable world.

What does a GMB member do?

  • Promote the mission and vision of Global Brigades in Tucson and abroad

  • Volunteer in the local community and sustain our efforts throughout the year and the future

  • Attend Medical Brigades: Provide communities with access to doctors and medicine every 3-4 months through multiple 7-10 day brigades

  • Fundraise materials, donations, and supplies that will be needed for the brigades abroad

  • Educate students on what it means to be a “global citizen” or a “global volunteer”

  • You do not need to attend a brigade to be a part of the club! There are a variety of opportunities that we provide to get involved with local healthcare as well as offer exposure to new cultures’ healthcare systems, all the while learning how to be an effective global volunteer.
